Silly Uncle Jamie
Ashley November 24, 2013
Yesterday morning my brother Mike and I had to go to silly Uncle Jamie's house because mum had to go to work. Every time we go to Uncle Jamie's house he is always nervous.
The next day Uncle Jamie went on a hunt to find gold we went looking for him. We saw him digging a huge hole and we thought it would be a good idea to go and help him. As we dug we kept going deeper and deeper, suddenly we found treasure. It was a massive chest with something engraved on the outside. We decided to take it back to Uncle Jamie's house. When we got back to Uncle Jamie's house he went to get a magnifying glass to look at the engraving. He was so nervous and shaking that Mike had to take the magnifying glass off him so we could read the name. As we were reading the engraving Uncle Jamie shouted "oh my gosh it is Great Grandpa Jacob's chest".
Uncle Jamie decided we should open it and see what was inside. We looked around Uncle Jamie's kitchen for something to open the lock. I was searching through the cupboards when I discovered a key it was hidden at the back of an old tin of biscuits. I ran to show Mike and Uncle Jamie. "Look what I found" I shouted. "Maybe it will fit in the lock" said Mike. Uncle Jamie grabbed the key from my hand, As he walked towards the chest Mike and I saw him shaking. Uncle Jamie remembered that Great Grandpa Jacob had told him he had buried a chest of gold somewhere in the trees around Uncle Jamie's house. He had opened it and there was lots of gold and we became rich.

Missing the bus
Here is my paragraph that I had written. It is all about Missing the Bus.
This story is about Missing the bus. It is all about a girl name Teina she had to go to the library to get her books just as they were running around the corner mum had missed the bus so they had chased the bus to school Mako and Dean was laughing at them. Finally they were at school, Teina’s mum said “we should walk to school every day” "but what if it rains" we could take the bus to school.
The moral about this story is exercise .

Athletics
On Friday we had athletics. I was in Te Arawa. All of the year 5 girls went with Miss Lavakula. Our first activity was sprints. Miss Lavakula told us to line up behind a person. My heart was beating so fast I was so nervous. We had to run 75 meters and 100 meters. The finish line was between two orange cones. After sprints we had watched the year 7 & 8 boys do discus because they hadn’t finished their turn. Then it was our turn, we got split up into two teams. Raewen was the first person to do discus, Paris was the second one and I was the third one I came first place. Even though I came first I was so scared to throw the discus because it was heavy and I couldn’t hold it properly. We had two throws each. The 3 people that made it in the top 3 were Elizabeth, Mahana and Taunese.
I felt happy doing the activities and I did better than last year. I hope I do even better next year. I was proud of myself for coopoerating and encouring other people .

The Bear in the room next door
Today in room 13 Mrs Maude read a story about the bear next door. Josh had heard a noise in his parent's room. It was a loud roar! Will he get up to run to his parent's room? He had imagined that there was a bear in the next room over.
Josh put black paint all over him! When the bear comes in the bear would not see him. He had thought that a bear was jumping out the window but he just jumped on a chair piled with clothes on it.
My favourite part was when he got a ball of string and put three chocolate bars on the end of the string and he had lead it in to his room. The next morning when he woke up the chocolate bars were eaten.
All of the snuffling noises was his dad snoring.
