What a food chain is

A food chain is an order of what organisms eat. It depends on their ecosystem. This means where they live. A food chain always starts with a producer an example of a producer is a plankton. Then its consumer an example of what eats plankton is krill.And is fourth.A producer is a living thing that makes its own food from sun and soil and a consumer is a living thing that eats other living things.

Antarctica

If you go to Antarctica you might figure some weird things but interesting facts about Antarctica, is twice as large as Australia. Antarctica is freezing cold and windy to  there is 70% freshwater there and 90% of Antarctica is covered in ice.

There is lots of wildlife like hump back whales,penguins,seals and Orcas. Antarctica is the coldest,driest and windiest place on earth.

There is lots of ice bergs there so if you go there you better watch out for ice bergs.

Whales

Whales are large mammals that live in the ocean . There are many different whale species . They are divided in two groups and split up.Some whales have teeth and some don't have teeth.A male whale is called a bull and female whale is called a cow and a baby whale is called a calf.

A Special Visitor

There was a buzz of excitement,once Mr Burt told us who was the special visitor it was Will I.am. Will. I. am was talking about his life. Point England School students we were in the hall.It was on thursday morning Will.I.am had gave $100, 000.00 cheek   towards all the  Maniakalani schools .

Will,I.am. had came to Pt england school and  told us about his life and his mum.

He shared about good friends and that he had a dream he also grew up  poor. But he's famous and doing lots of good things now. 

I felt excited when I meet Will,I.am.

Immersion Assembly

On the first day of school  room 13 went to the hall for Immersion Assembly. Miss Lavakula   dressed up like a penguin she had a helmet on. Miss Lavakula  made the head of the  penguin with fabric,we were learning about Antarctica for our topic .

My favourite item was team 5 I liked that item because it was funny and Miss Tito talked in an Irish sort of voice and that was funny, also it was funny because she threw the chicken at my little sister. I felt happy when I came back to school. ‘I missed school’.

Rugby League

Every Tuesday room 13 is having Rugby league for five weeks . Today our coach James was teaching us how to catch and pass but first we had to do some warm ups some of the kids in room 13 had blue bands on there were coloured cones.The warm up was called Benji says.

If You’re wondering how to play benji says well it is just like simon says. The second activity was duck duck  goose. Duck duck goose isn’t like the real duck duck goose it is a game you play with  a ball.

So the first person who has the ball passes to the next person and runs around the circle twice while the others throw the ball in the circle until the person who ran around the circle twice comes back . The next activity for training was catching and passing and scoring a try.The second time we played catching passing and scoring a try my team one.

When we finished   catching passing and scoring a try we played octopus. The taggers was Shoel and Shavana they had a ball each and james called out ‘octopus’ I had got tagged on the second round.I felt happy playing Rugby League because it is fun.

May Holidays

 

In the holidays I went Rock climbing with the Dunkirk holiday programme. First we had to got to the toilet and have morning tea. There were lots of different fairy tales and crosswords I got to the top of the wall you had to touch the top of the wall and the instructor said ‘dont jump down the wall’ all you will get hert . After all of that we had go and have lunch I was so tired and so out of breath . I had a two drinks of water and a sandwich we had to have a rest because we had to wait for a adult to come and watch us. Next I went on the bob the builder I slipped down the bob the builder car and I had another try at bob the builder . last we had to get our bags and our shoes on. The bus was out the front that was the best day ever I felt happy when we went to Rock climbing.

Cupcake Core

This morning Room 13 have been Learning how to take core samples. We took samples from a cupcake and guessed what the core looked like.In real life geologists take samples of what is under the land.

In the holidays

In the holidays I went to Parakai pools with the holiday programme. When we first got to Parakai pools we had to get changed we had to wait on the seats before we jumped in, the little kids had to walk to the other side of the pool.I jumped of the side of the pool, the inside pools are very hot

there was two huge slides you have to walk up alot of stairs and the water was very hot when you go down the slide. The lifeguard was watching us going down the slippery slides the lifeguard said ‘no trains’ we had to count to five before we went down  the slide .Before we went home we had to say thank you and it was fun and cool playing with my new friends .
