We heard amazing voices coming from the hall it sounded the humming birds. We walked through the doors like we were amazing Stars, Mr and Mrs Minstrel were the lovely visitors we had yesterday. I learnt some facts yesterday about the ocean that adults didn't even know.
* The first fact I learnt was that it is good to wear life jackets on a boat because life jackets can save people's lives. Three men were out at sea they didn't wear any Life Jackets, they threw their life jackets to the front of the boat. Then the boat hit a log, but they couldn't see the log because it was under the water a inch, they went flying out of the boat and into the water. They didn't have time to run to the front of the boat to get their life jackets so remember always to wear a life jacket. (LIFE JACKETS CAN SAVE LIVES.)
* The Minstrel family shared to us was to NOT pick up a fish from the sea with a dry towel, you always have to pick up a fish from the sea with a wet towel. Because if you pick up a fish with a dry towel then you would might take off their skin or fins, on their body.
* The last fact that the special visitors shared to P.E.S was to always take ice with you when you go fishing because whenever you catch a fish you could put it in the chilli bin, where the ice will be and then the fish would be nice and cool.
* The second fact that the Minstrel family shared to us was to always wash a fish with salt water because it will make them more fresh and normal, but if you clean a salt fish with normal New Zealand water then the fish may taste yuck and it could die easily. Also because it could go rotten.
* You should take a ruler with you fishing because if a fish is smaller than 30 meters you have to place it back in the water to grow bigger, if it is bigger than 30 meters you have to put it back in the water too because it might have baby fish in it's stomach.
This blog is a record of my learning during the years I was at Pt England School through to Tamaki College.

Cross Country Writing (Show Not Tell) 2K16
Yr 8 students ran past like a cheetah chasing its prey they were running like the wind. My stomach twisted and twirled like a machine, my heart started pounding like a drum. I huffed and Puffed like the big bad wolf.
I was relieved to see the finish line in sight, I heard the Roaring crowd cheering and yelling their lungs out for the competitors along with a thunderous applause. I clenched my fists as I past through the finish line, with sweat dripping down my face like a waterfall. I nearly dropped dead to the ground.

Gabriel & Saia Silicon Valley
Saia & Gabriel came to our school last term to tell us were they are going to, they were heading to Silicon Valley. They talked to us about were they are heading to and why they were heading to Silicon Valley. Today we had some special visitors from Tamaki College come to our school, Saia & Gabriel are there names, they came back to Pt England School to report back what happen during their amazing trip to Silicon Valley. The visited alot of amazing places like Stanford University, Google, Yelp, Microsoft, Xero, Facebook, Twitter, Apple, Ideo, Instagram and last of all Alcatraz. Alcatraz was the biggest prison in America, with top security but in 1963 Alcatraz closed because of three people escaped from the prison. When they were finished talking people started asking questions for Saia & Gabriel, it took a long time but in the end it was worth the experience.

The BFG (Big Friendly Giant)
Last Term our Literacy teacher read to us Roald Dahl's book called The BFG. Yesterday our class went to watch the recently released movie BFG (Big Friendly Giant). We were allowed to take Chips, a small can of fizzie drink and lollies as our treat. The movie was different to the book because some parts in the movie didn't even happen in the book, for an example there was a little boy in the movie, but in the book it doesn't even talk about a little boy.
My favourite character was the BFG ( Big Friendly Giant) because Sophie the little girl thought the BFG was a monster at first, but when Sophie got to know the giant she loved him as a friend. The BFG has a Sweet, Beautiful, Smart and he was a Fob because he couldn't pronounce words correctly.
The BFG is a really friendly giant because he helps children dream about amazing things. I Thought the movie was amazing to watch because it had alot of ideas and alot of detail that the movie is supposed to
have. My Favorite Part was when Sophie jumped of the edge of the rail and then the BFG caught her. Sophie jumped of the edge of the rail because she new he was there to catch her.
I Recommend this Movie to the little kids, It is awesome & you can learn a thing or 2 from this Movie.
I would like to say a big thank you to Mr Wiseman for Organizing this for Our Literacy class, I really Appreciate this.
