No Girls Allowed In The Olympics

Activity Number Two 2#

During the ancient Olympic Games, men were allowed to compete in the events but women were not. In fact, women were often forbidden from even watching the games. My opinion is that this rule is not fair to the girls. Even if they let the girls in to watch and show their sportsman ship to the competitors would be awesome.

  1. Hi Ashley,

I completely agree with you on this one. I think that it wasn't fair that girls were excluded from participating in the ancient Olympic games. It only seems fair to me that both men and women be included in the games and allowed to compete and demonstrate their skills. I am so glad that the modern Olympic games is open to both genders. In fact, one of my favourite Olympic sports is actually a 'girls only' event. It is called 'synchronised swimming.' Have you ever heard of it?

The sport involves working together as a team to perform a dance in the water. It looks really difficult to me!

I hope that you are able to watch some of the upcoming Olympic games with your friends/family. They start on 5 August. I can't wait!!

    Cheers,
    Rachel
