This is my Fiafia Reflection

Have you ever been to a Fiafia concert before? Point England school is having one on Thursday 18 April, it starts at 7pm. There will be food stalls as well, these will be open from 4:30pm. Every student at Pt England had to decide which group they wanted to be in. We were only allowed to pick three from a list. My first choice was Niuean group, my second choice was Senior Kapa Haka and  my third choice was Senior hip hop. I was happy when I found out that I was in the Niuean Group. There are more than 20 people in the Niuean group and we practice in room 13.

We have been practicing for the last 6 weeks. It has been hard work trying to get the actions right and learn the words to the songs. Our tutors are Miss Lavakula and Mrs Langitupu.  Our group has students from Year 1 up to Year 8.  Our group leaders are Kingston, Shoal and Darius.  Most of the seniors are disrespectful to our tutors because they talk when the teachers are giving us instructions. Sometimes it’s hard to hear what they are saying too because the seniors are talking. We have learnt  lots of different dances and actions. My favourite part of my group item is when we sing the song pa pa teliga and do the actions that go with this song.

The costumes we are wearing are blue, black and white lavalavas, black singlets for the girls. Over the top of the lavalavas the girls will be wearing white sisi’s, the boys will be wearing the sisi’s  around their necks. The boys are going to have black war paint on their bodies and faces. The girls hair is going to be bushy making us look fierce.  I am really excited about performing in front of the whole school, my family and friends. I enjoy doing the pa pa teliga and the hopo.  I can’t wait to get up on stage with my group and perform.

Year 5 and 6 camp

When it was 7.30am, the sun was shining bright and it was time for camp. I woke up at 6.00am and got ready for first day of camp. I was so excited.I was the first one to get ready in my family for camp. I was in Synergy for camp and our first activitys was kayaking. We were on our way to Pt England Beach and we saw Mr Burt with the paddles and kayaks. I sat down in front of Mr Burt and he talked about kayaking. We all walked down the ramp. We had to put our life jackets on befor ewe moved of to the kayak. It was fun on the kayaks.

Eel of Omaru Creek

Once  upon a time there was an Eel called lucy. She had eight friends who loved racing up and down the river. She also had thousands of cousins and uncles and aunties. Every day one would always die and they wanted to move but they didn't like salt water. Whenever they had to search for their food (fish grubs) they had to swim and try to find food.

Omaru creek flourished and it was crystal clear. You could see the plants at the bottom of the river until lucy saw people throwing rubbish into the river. People use to swim in the  crystal clear river. But the river became polluted from all the people that threw rubbish in the Omaru creek. The creatures in the river had died because people has been throwing rubbish in the river the plants were dying and the water was green.

Triathlon

This is my writing about Triathlon.

On a hot sunny Wednesday room thirteen and fourteen sat on the grass and listened to the instructors. The instructors said "you have to go around the cones”. We had to do Swim,Bike,Run. the girls went first  and the boys went last . As I slid through the slippery wet slide, I got all soapy. we had to go through the slippery wet slide four times and then we had to run as fast as you can to the bikes we put on our helmets and we had to push the bikes out of transion and I hopped on the bike and  rode it around the flags and cones . And last running, I was so out of breath and I was tired.
